We're Celebrating 25 Years of Allied Medical

November 2023 marks a special occasion for Allied Medical as we celebrate 25 years in business.

Back in 1998, Ken and Katie Noble founded Allied Medical, a company focused on bringing the world's best assistive technology to the people of Aotearoa. Twenty-five years later, with a truly committed and long-standing team, alongside valued suppliers, talented assessors and subcontractors, and committed dealers, we provide solutions to over 10,000 New Zealanders each year. While the technology and products have changed, the core focus of people helping people has remained the same and we want to thank you all for being a part of our journey.

Allied Medical Through the Years

1998 2000 2001
Allied Medical was started by Ken and Katie Noble – our first office and showroom was at 226B Bush Road, North Harbour. In 2000, Allied Medical launched the Jazzy 1120 – the very first mid-wheel-drive wheelchair available in New Zealand. The Karma KM8000 series wheelchair became our first contracted product. We still roll over 1,500 Karma wheelchairs out the door each year!

2006 2008 2009
Allied Medical moved to a purpose built facility at 29 Triton Drive, Rosedale. Our Auckland team and warehouse are still located here. We officially launched the AML Certified Programme, targeted at the technicians who maintain and service our equipment. Over 75 technicians have been a part of this programme. We started working with James Leckey Design to bring high quality paediatric products to New Zealand's tamariki.

2012 2014 2018
Allied Medical was started by Ken and Katie Noble – our first office and showroom was at 226B Bush Road, North Harbour. We launched our Outbound Technical Support service to support clients using our products, across Aotearoa. We opened our first South Island branch in Christchurch to allow us to better support our Southern customers.

2019 2020 2022
Allied Medical commenced the distribution of Ki Mobility's range of ultra-lightweight wheelchairs across Aotearoa. During lockdowns and tight restrictions, our team continued to work through tough circumstances to deliver products to those who needed them. We launched Connie Hansen RaceRunners in New Zealand with Have-a-Go Days across the country, to help get this sport established.

August 2023 October 2023 NOW
Quantum Rehab launches the R-TRAK in Australia and New Zealand. It is the first new high-performing, rear-wheel drive powerchair from Quantum in over 10 years. Along with other key distributors, Allied Medical was selected for the Panel Supply of Power Wheelchairs to Enable New Zealand. Allied Medical celebrates being in business for 25 years! That's 25 years of people helping people.

The Allied Community

We are proud to have been able to support a variety of incredible organisations over the years including the New Zealand Powerchair Football Club, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, Auckland Zoo, and Multiple Sclerosis Auckland. In 2020 we also partnered with Enliven through Presbyterian Support and launched our Kindness Box Project. The Kindness Box Project is all about giving older people living alone in Auckland, shoeboxes filled with small gifts, treats, and daily living aids to help add a little extra joy to their day.

Our team also loves getting involved with groups making a difference in the community or raising funds and awareness for important causes. This year the team has participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge, in support of Motor Neurone Disease, and supported Muscular Dystrophy NZ by participating in their Roll 1k for MDA campaign.

Everyone in the business is passionate about making a difference - and having fun in the process.

During the month of November, we’re inviting anyone in New Zealand to nominate a deserving individual or organisation to win a wheelchair – people can nominate themselves too! Nominations will be accepted until November 30th, 2023. To nominate, you simply need to complete our online nomination form.

Once nominations close, our team will carefully review all submissions and select 25 deserving winners. Each winner will receive an AML Wheelchair that suits their needs and requirements.

Share the love, spread the word, and nominate someone in your community who could benefit from a wheelchair. Conditions apply.

25 Incredible Years of Support...

A huge thank you from the team at Allied Medical for your ongoing support and business over the past twenty-five years. We love working with you to help New Zealanders live their lives with dignity and independence both at home and in the community. Bring on the next twenty-five years!
